it goes so deep and really hurts to read “deathfugue” in this English translation. it even does much more to me than the original.
the picture - the true picture - it draws of this part of history, is so scary when it comes to the German words “Der Tod ist ein Meister aus Deutschland” just in the middle of the other language.
it hurts.
but it is true.
and will be unforgotten.

On my site you will find information on and reviews of my 1994 book on DKdF as well as information on my 2002 (very first) CD recording of the 1742 version. This version, which was first revealed and described in the book, consists of twelve movements only and forms a consistent and unified whole - indeed, perhaps the only feasible ‘concert’ version of this incomparable harpsichord work.

I used to have a Vinyl recording of the complete dkf. Played on organ in, I believe a major church in Åbo Finland, by Enzio Forsmann. The recording must be about 30 Years old now. No more known data.
